Share your story with your neighbors to promote solar adoption.

The National Solar Tour is the largest national solar event. It is coordinated by a leading solar energy non-profit organization, The American Solar Energy Society. Welcome interested members of your community to see your solar system up close and hear about your experience and reasoning for going solar. Show off your system, answer questions, share stories, and celebrate the power of solar energy! Any home, business, non-profit organization, is invited to participate either online or in-person.

Below is a sample virtual tour from Hidden Glen Farms in Kennett Square, PA:

About in-person tours

The official weekend of the National Solar Tour is October 2-3, but you can host a Solar Site any time of the year. With in-person Solar Tours, home or business owners invite friends, neighbors, and members of the community to stop by the property and learn about solar. Show them your system and show off your electric bill, walk them through your monitoring, or just gather people to talk solar and be together! E-mail bill@solar-states.com if you would like to organize your own home solar tour.

About virtual tours

With a virtual tour, you can simply record a short video on your phone describing your experience with solar energy. The video can be as long as you’d like, and you don’t need to do any special editing. Typically, homeowners will explain why they went solar, what the experience of going solar was like, and what life is like with solar power.

Once you record your short video, you will either need to upload it to YouTube or share it with Solar States so that we can do that for you. E-mail bill@solar-states.com to begin your virtual solar tour.
