FREE TRAINING TO BECOME A SOLAR INSTRUCTOR

Right now, the solar energy industry is on the verge of momentous growth. There are unprecedented opportunities for solar installation and workforce development. However, the industry needs more skilled folks and trainers.

To address the demand for skilled solar instructors in Philadelphia and neighboring counties, Solar States and the Philadelphia Energy Authority are collaborating to host a free one-week training bootcamp.

Participants will receive hands-on training, classroom learning, and do practical activities in order to master the basic job skills required by many careers in solar energy and energy storage.

What sets this program apart from others is the opportunity for participants to hone their training skills while being mentored by an outstanding trainer and facilitator. Solar States holds certification as a NABCEP Accredited Training Company, and Micah Gold-Markel is an IREC Certified Master Trainer.

Graduates of this program will be eligible to take the NABCEP PV Associates test and will learn some of the concepts of the NABCEP PV Installation Professional JTA. This course empowers trainers with the skills and knowledge required to educate and inspire the upcoming generation of solar installation professionals.

Training Objectives:

• Comprehensive foundation in solar energy and storage
• Deep understanding of theoretical and practical aspects
• Instruction on solar PV design, installation, and safety

Curriculum:

• 40 hours “Solar: Train the Trainer” from industry expert
• 8 hours “Teaching Fundamentals” from industry expert
• Immersive solar education experience
• Organizing diverse learning activities
• Developing strategies for teaching complex theories
